Another January birthday

Just two days later comes Arwen's birthday.... just one day's breather between The big girl and the wee girl, and it seems so close after the Christmas and New year's business.
But speaking as one who know's what it is like to have a January birthday, with everyone tired from the celebration season and over the whole present buying thing and not really up for another party..... I do try to make the girl's days as special as I can... but it is a bit challenging. I can see us in the future combining all the girl's birthdays (we all have them within 5 days of each other) and celebrating for 5 days straight!! Well it's a good idea anyway!....

After our little camping adventure, things were a little more low key for our wee Arwen.. she was more than happy with the fact that she had a big chocolate cake (as requested) that was her very own birthday cake, and her own presents.....

So a nice breakfast was had, with crossaints (or crissalonts as she pronounces them) which I made myself (I had forgotten to buy them, and they worked out OK actually), and the cake, which was pretty much all she wanted, she is all about cake this little girl !!! and a few presents.... she was pretty much in complete birthday happiness really ......

Some bedroom craziness while waiting to be allowed into the birthday room.....

Then into the room for the breakfast feast...

and the cake.....

Presents..... including a new bracelet....

cards..

a new skirt, that twirls when you spin (VERY important)

a new dress.....(well new to Arwen anyway)

a new doll...

a new CD to dance to (Elizabeth Mitchell - Little bird and other Woody Guthrie songs, a great kids CD !)

Loads of wonderment....

and then an afternoon with ALL the cousins....

and blowing the candles again....

Then fish and chips at the park....

and duck feeding .....

Check out these shoes!!!!! They are a very generous and exceptionally funky present from her cousins, that have come all the way from London.....

some park bench chilling with 'Lottie' her new and very fond of doll.....

some park exploring with Lottie (of course)

A newly turned 3 year old and her doll..... it's just too cute !!! (sorry about all the photo's but it really was so cute)

Papa's birthday snuggles...

Hanging with the dog....

more shoe shots (they really are soooooooooooooooo cool )

last duck viewing...

then off home.....

....for a bit of a treat.... Charlotte's web on video...

    1. Oh ... I wish !!!!! No I didn't make it. To be honest I did think about it, but I am no expert sewer and I really wanted Arwen to have a GOOD quality doll that would last her as long as she wanted... so we decided to invest. And I'm pleased we did ,'Lottie' is pretty neat, and Arwen adores her. Hope you guys are well and having many adventures.
