Today

We have decided that Fridays are going to be a 'free' day, so they can choose a project or game they want to play in the morning.
They decided on watercolour painting this morning.....

this is Kurt's adobe house watercolour (from his Native American school work block)

Then we went to town, and because the sun was out (finally) we decided to go for a walk along Taylor pass river....

...it was just magic, it's amazing just incredible the sun looks and feels when you haven't seen it for days....

We just meandered along the path, stopping many many many times.... to throw stones into the ,still swollen, stream....

to run up hills......

gaze at the beautiful sunlight filtering through seed pods hanging on trees......

discover snails.... and marvel as we watched one shed it's shell skin, revealing it's new one underneath...

then decide to carry them all the way back to the car and take home......

...and these are the snails, that did indeed make it all the way home.... (after a number of snail hunts along the path as they dropped (or perhaps tried to leap to safety))......
