The things we do

Friday is officially (as of two weeks ago) our 'free' day, where the kids can choose what they want to do. Games for the morning and then went into town for a practice for the homeschoolers play coming up in October.
Then once home again, they busied themselves ,as they usually do, with a variety of things...

Becca 'created' for quite sometime in the kitchen with some pastry I had left over from making dinner..... with her 'little helper' looking on.....

A bit of relaxing in the sun for Anton....

Then he figured he better get involved in the cooking thing too, and took on the bowl licking job.....

Madame Arwen decided on some dancing with her 'baby doll' was in order........ (mostly ,I suspect, spurred on by the sugar rush she had from the vast quantities of nutella she had consumed while Becca wasn't watching)....

And Kurt, well he spent the afternoon on a very impressive project.... still with this theme of Olympics that he remains intensely fascinated with... he designed, sewed and painted the Olympic rings on a piece of white material, then found a big piece of pine from down the back and dragged it all the way back to the house (big big effort) then proceeded to dig a 90cm hole erect the pole and fill it in (with levels and all the neccessary tools to ensure it was in straight and stable)......

...and then outfited the pole with rigging string and competently rigged and raised the flag... an afternoon well spent with a good result....

That's one way to spend a Friday afternoon I guess.

  1. I love the perseverance. What an amazing thing, to set to such a big task, and just stick at it until it is done - a very useful trait to have as an adult (one I seem to lack! hah).
