Discovering Brayshaw park

Friday morning we decided to explore Blenheim a bit, we started with Brayshaw park, and had so much fun, ended up spending all morning there. Brayshaw park is essentially a street that is a replica of what a typical Blenheim street would have looked like in the early 19th century, which is great fun to explore, and it's free to visit !!!!

The kids had a great time running up the footpath...

and peering in the windows of the old fashioned chemist....

...the hat shop..

..the liquor store...

and the hardware store window held a lot of interest....

and even posing ,(very) briefly for a photo for Mama (all except the youngest, who ,at age two, has decided that she doesn't need to comply with anything these days !!)

but the favourite was the prison !!!

Anton was very very intrigued, and spent quite some time in the 'cell' !!

then we dececided on a bike ride to the beach in the afternoon.
Our wild Marlbourgh beach holds a whole new appeal on cold blustery winter day, it seems that the bitter temperature does little to deter our children when there is serious exploring to be done !!

Shoes are also not required....

Some balancing skills tuned up....

and a bit of afternoon tea topped off a great (but fresh) afternoon at the beach
