Parcel from France

A while ago we had a large parcel in the post.... and it was from France !!

We decided to wait until Papa came home that evening to open it. By that time the kids had looked and touch and shaken and looked again and again at the parcel throughout the day...

...then when evening came......

Inside were lots of wrapped parcel's.... and some cans...

With each parcel was much excitement as they all shared the opening....

Some really beautiful stories with audio CD's..... in french !!!!

It re-inspired my idea of learning french.... and reminded me that I must organise online french lessons for Kurt this year.....

The kids are captivated with the books... now it's just up to their Mama to brush up on some french language skills so I can read along and teach them what is going on in the stories......

and an amazing calendar that our incredible good good friends had put together for us.. with photo's of their region in France and wee photo's of their time with us here in New Zealand.... it is beautiful and we spent a long time that night looking at it and learning about a little of France and lots and lots of remembering our great time with them here in New Zealand (actually we still haven't had any woofer's here since they left , it's just not the same without them)

The calendar is on the door in our kitchen where it is looked at everyday ...

and in the cans.??????...... well in the cans is something really special and had Rob smiling all night !!...... all the way from France, Foies Gras... and not just one can... but several.
Oh how very very special.. and how lucky we are.. they hold a very honoured place in our pantry... and we look forward to a special occassion when one will be opened !!!

Turns out the cans are also good for making towers out of .......

and knocking them over......

Thank you so much Anthony and Leslie.... we treasure all your beautiful gifts, and we think of you often..... we miss you guys so so much.
