wet wet wet

What do you do on yet another wet day ???? I thought that the Marlborough region was reputed to be dry ??
Oh well....
Started with a bit of  'rice in an oven tray with trucks' - an oldie but a goodie in this house......

Others amused themselves by tipping out my basket of 5 days worth of washing !!! Yes that was a LOT of nice clean washing all over our really NOT clean living room floor, but apparantly it was a lot of fun......

A bit of scrabble ( or at least an achievable version of it, for a little girl who isn't quite reading yet).....

a quiet contemplative moment with a 'player of the day' trophy before it went back on Saturday....

and a bit of fun in a plastic bucket.......

We had an awesome roaring fire keeping us all cosy and warm all day long...

All games were abandoned when Kurt anounced he would read some poems, and I took the opportunity to attempt to tame some of the mamoth pile of washing that really had grown so big it was taking over whole sections of the living room (maybe that's what Arwen was trying to tell me when she dumped it???)....
and the four of them were in fits of laughter over poem after poem from a much loved poet ,in our house......

we love Shel Silverstein........

Then we revisited water painting, we haven't done much lately, but we were all remembering what a beautiful art medium this is.. with some great pieces resulting ....

Anton's colour mixing masterpiece

'The sunset' (although she really was not happy with this piece.

This is Kurt's 'Native American Indian's of the plains' (those are teepees)

It's always a bit of a set up, which is maybe why we don't get to it as often as I'd like, but it's always so very worth it.

For some though ,the wait for paper and brushes was too much and the call for sleep was just too strong......
