Calling spring

Today we decided we would do something to call for spring, to see if she is out there somewhere.

We made tissue stars to put on the windows, in an attempt to attract the spring fairies.....

As we were cellotaping them to the window, there was a ,brief, break in the gloomy weather, and the sun shone through !! The kids (well the younger ones at least) were pretty impressed by the power of the 'tissue stars'....

Later we decided to go on a spring hunt and see if we could spot signs of impending spring... and down by the pond we found this.... leaves just starting to sprout on our willow trees !!

It happens every year, but the first signs of spring are ALWAYS so magical aren't they.

As the kids played on the floor with the afternoon sun streaming through the windows (a rare experience this winter) I was convinced that spring is indeed out there somewhere, just getting ready to knock on King winters door ......

and that is worth smiling about for sure !!!....
