Maths

Anton has been asking for weeks and weeks if he can do 'maths' too. This is something I have been resisting for a while, because I really didn't think he needed to start this for at least a year or so... but what can you do.....
so ......
He set himself up with his paper and blocks and he asked for problems, which he was given .....

he worked away on his own..... and figured them out and even wrote the answers out on the paper beside the equation..... I didn't even know he knew how to write his numbers, let alone how to work out maths problems...

Then he looked at me and said, "Mama, those are too easy can you give me some harder ones "

Amazing what they learn while your not watching !!!

  1. Wow! What a clever cookie! I guess this is another bonus to home schooling, aye? The littlies get to watch the learning happen.

    1. It's pretty amazing what I haven't had to teach him actually! I guess it's being number three. Just imagine what wee Mollie will learn with two big brothers (she's a lucky thing, I always wanted an older brother)

    1. I'm borrowing them at the moment, from a family here who do a maths program called 'Maths U see'. I'm trying to find a way to explain some maths concepts to Kurt and Becca in a way they can understand more thoroughly (excuse my terrible english). I'm a maths person so I 'get' maths but I'm no teacher, so I struggle to explain it. These blocks and system seem to help a bit ( I think) They love using the blocks anyway, although it's not very Steiner.
