In the bush

We had the coolest afternoon a few days ago, a spontaneous walk in the glorious Marlborough sounds. The kids were tired and it was hot, very hot... and at the beginning we did wonder what an earth we were doing... but it turned out fantastic..
and with a great destination... Lochmara lodge, where we had a brilliant dinner (it was where Rob'e Christmas work due was being held, so we joined in the bar-b-que) and then a fun and beautiful ride back to Mistletoe bay in a boat, where we walked back up the road to our car...

We had such a great afternoon, sometimes the spontaneous stuff really works out, must remember to do a bit more of it I think...

A much needed lollie stop.....  that sugar really works wonders ,especially for tired little legs...

Yummmmmmm

Off we go again

So many treasures to discover

This guy is always reminding me that there is always time to smell the flowers

After two hours, we made it to the back door of Lochmara Lodge, and what a back door it is ......

Then a taxi ride back on a boat

And back at Mistletoe bay , we had the last stretch to walk, back up the road to our car.....

With a couple of 'admire-the-scenery' stops...

They are taking a photo of me while I am taking a photo of them apparantly

and for some , a bit of a lift for the last wee bit.....
