It finally stopped raining

The day started as all the others have this week, raining. So we decided to read about Native American indians (Kurt's main lesson block at the moment, we are doing this on a very casual basis), and we discovered a very interesting game that apparantly the inuit children used to play. Holding onto your feet and walking on your knees....
Much much easier said than done....... and we had a lot of fun trying.....
Have you tried it?? It's crazy

..some potato print paint stamping........

and Kurt helped Becca with a bit of phonics work.....

and then..... yes...... oh finally .....it stopped raining......
it was by no means tropical out there, and still dark and gray.... but no moisture falling... hooray....

A bit of tree climbing was in order ,Rob has just trimmed our macrocapa hedgeline, and it was just calling to be climbed (apparantly)

then we thought we'd better head down to the back of the propery to check up on our goats......

Despite the wet wet wet ground the kids felt compelled to roll down the stop bank, they were really quite excited by the wetness of it all and into the sopping grass below..(the really have been couped up inside for days I guess).......

Oh the delight...... I stopped them for a split second to catch the bunch of wet, cold and deleriously happy bunch they were....

and then some quiet times ....(yes still lying in the wet)...

\

a 'cross country' race, I think the dog won....

lets see how deep I can go in this puddle before the water spills into my gumboot ..(theres always one)...

Dancing on the stop bank (she sings and dances everywhere at the moment)...

High fives all around...

Then wet ,cold and getting dark we headed back to the house stopping first for a bit more tree climbing and a bit of swinging....

oh we are so lucky to have this little piece of wonderland to play in.....

  1. Looks like so much fun!
Dad said I should ask you what lens/lenses you use - he is on a lens buying mission. I couldn't remember if you had already told me or not, nappy brain!
