A big boys birthday

Our biggest boy turned 9 !!!! How can nine years go so very very fast ?? It boggles me that a whole nine years have past and I can still remember the day he was born so very very clearly.

So ,anyone, our big boy is now 9 and already looking forward to being 10.

We celebrated his birthday, with our traditional birthday breakfast celebrations... the cake,

the photo line (Snapshots of Kurt's year that was)....

The years photo album (that I actually only had time to do about 1/3 of a years photo's)...

the presents .....

Then we set off an a bit of a small scale adventure. Kurt said he wanted what he did on his birthday to be a suprise, so I found a place that we hadn't been to that sounded like it could be a bit of fun...... packed some lunch and warm clothes and off to Pine Valley we went.....
Pine Valley outdoor centre is an old small school that is now used as accomodation for school groups to use as a base, it is at the entrance to Richmond national park and they have a really cool little adventure playground that they have built in a small pinetree plantation, which we had a lot of fun exploring.....

After lunch in the tree house ,of course, to refuel we drove up the road to the entrance to Richmond national park and went for a wee explore along one of the tracks.....

It's such a feast for the soul to wander through nature's beauty, and stop to discover all it has to offer.....

To the kids great delight we also discovered a swing bridge....

then back down the path heading for home....

  1. Beautiful pictures and a very happy birthday to your (not so) little boy! I love your idea for a photo timeline (might give it a go for our birthday season which is coming up soon). The beauty of nature never fails to delight - thanks for sharing your special day xx

    1. Thanks, I'll have to admit that photo's of me are very rare around here. I often admire how you do take and put photo's of yourself on your blog, very cool, maybe one day I'll be brave enough too. Kurt took that photo of me ,I didn't even know he took it until I downloaded the photo's, it's pretty good actually.
